This morning we got the sad news that one of Carsten's fellow unit aviators was killed in Afghanistan a few days ago. We've found that each year there tends to be more and more losses within our groups of friends and families. Is this what it means to get older?
With the feeling of loss with our oldest son off in Germany with his great-grandmother, and sad thoughts looming like thunder clouds over our heads, we made the decision to go and do something fun.
Saturdays are for:
Gap-toothed smiles
And BEACHES!
with monitor lizards
with sparkly water with thunderclouds in the sky
with football and friends
with container ships and Singaporean beach bathers.
And they're for football in the sand
and football in the sand
They're also for rainstorms, losing your way home, and deep reflections on life over a bowl of ginseng chicken soup outside of a hawker stand. But we didn't catch those moments on film.
